Welcome to the Cute Digital Assets Commercial Use Guide.
This page is designed to help you understand how you can use our artwork in your business. While our Commercial License contains the complete legal terms, this guide explains those rights in a simple, easy-to-understand format.
If there is ever a conflict between this guide and the Commercial License, the Commercial License will take precedence.
Our Goal
Cute Digital Assets was created to help businesses create beautiful products.
We want you to feel confident using our artwork in your business, whether you're opening your first Etsy shop or running an established company.
Our licensing is designed to be straightforward, fair, and easy to understand.
What You Can Make
Our artwork is designed to be incorporated into finished products for resale.
Examples include:
- Stickers
- Apparel
- Tote bags
- Tumblers
- Mousepads
- Coasters
- Journals
- Planners
- Greeting cards
- Calendars
- Bookmarks
- Fabric
- Packaging
- Home décor
- Scrapbooking supplies
- Party supplies
- Printed stationery
- Handmade products
- Professionally manufactured products
This list is not exhaustive. If you're creating a finished product for your business, there's a good chance you're using the artwork as intended.
Where You Can Sell
You may sell your finished products through virtually any traditional sales channel, provided your production remains within your purchased license.
Examples include:
- Your own website
- Etsy
- Shopify
- Faire
- Local boutiques
- Craft fairs
- Farmers markets
- Vendor events
- Small wholesale accounts
- Small business retail locations
Some larger retail partnerships require an Enterprise or Mass Market License. If you're unsure, we're happy to help determine which license is appropriate.
Understanding the Three License Levels
Every product purchased from Cute Digital Assets includes our Standard Commercial License.
This allows you to create and sell up to 5,000 finished products using that design.
If your business grows, you may upgrade that individual design to our Extended Commercial License, increasing your production allowance to 100,000 finished products for an additional $10 USD per design.
Businesses producing products for national retailers, major wholesale distribution, or other large commercial partnerships will need a separately negotiated Enterprise / Mass Market License.
What Counts as One Product?
Each completed item sold to a customer counts as one finished product.
For example:
- One mug = one product
- One t-shirt = one product
- One notebook = one product
- One planner = one product
- One tote bag = one product
- One sticker sheet = one product
If you sell 2,000 mugs using one design, you've produced 2,000 finished products.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I sell on Etsy?
Absolutely.
Many of our customers operate Etsy shops.
Can I sell on my own website?
Yes.
Selling through your own website is fully permitted within the limits of your purchased license.
Can I sell at craft fairs?
Yes.
Craft fairs, conventions, pop-up markets, and similar events are all permitted.
Can I manufacture my products?
Yes.
You may create products yourself or work with a manufacturer, provided production remains within your purchased license.
Can I use print-on-demand companies?
Yes, provided the service is manufacturing finished products for your business and the original artwork is not being redistributed or offered as a downloadable asset.
You remain responsible for ensuring your use complies with your purchased license.
Can I modify the artwork?
Yes.
You may resize, recolor, combine, crop, or otherwise modify artwork to better suit your finished products.
Modified artwork remains subject to the original Commercial License and may not be redistributed as a digital asset.
What You Cannot Do
Our artwork may not be:
- Resold as digital downloads.
- Shared with friends, family, or other businesses.
- Uploaded to stock asset websites.
- Included in digital bundles for resale.
- Given away as free downloads.
- Used to create competing clip art or digital asset products.
- Claimed as your own original artwork.
- Registered as a trademark.
- Used as a company logo without written permission.
- Licensed or transferred to another person or business.
When Do I Need an Enterprise License?
An Enterprise or Mass Market License is required when your project involves large-scale retail or commercial distribution.
Examples include:
- Selling through national retail chains.
- Corporate promotional products.
- Licensing artwork to another company.
- Large manufacturing agreements.
- Major wholesale partnerships.
- Retail distribution where products are sold through national or regional chains.
Even if your production quantity is below 100,000 units, these types of projects generally require a negotiated Enterprise License.

Need More Than One License?
Licenses apply per purchased design.
If you purchase multiple designs, each design carries its own licensing rights and production limits.
License upgrades also apply individually to each purchased design.

If your project doesn't quite fit within our licensing options, don't worry.
Many unique business opportunities can be accommodated through a custom licensing agreement.
We'd much rather discuss your project beforehand than have you guess which license applies.
